Three for tomorrow

7/23/2010 11:18:39 PM by griffdog
Things might be dull for a lot of people, but this is one of my favorite times of the year. Action's about to kick off in the major leagues soon, and right now, there's a lot of money to be made in leagues around the world, from Asia, to Europe's smaller leagues, to South America. If you can't find something to bet on, then you aren't trying to.

Here are a few for tomorrow that I like. I expect all three to hit, but I wouldn't complain about going 2-1.

griffdog's Monday soccer picks

Have been watching the World Cup more as a fan than a bettor so far (takes less than both hands to count the amount of bets I've made), and I like it that way. Would've jumped on the over 2.5 in the Argentina-Mexico game since I had a good feeling about it (and it was at some juicy odds) but ended up passing.

These are more for fun than anything, but here are few plays that I like for Brazil-Chile:

Brazil/Chile OVER 1 1st Half: It's at +116 at my book right now, and that's just too damn good to pass...

griffdog's Saturday MLB plays & leans

6/12/2010 8:53:49 AM by griffdog
There's a lot on the board for Saturday that I like. Not locking in anything until the morning, since I want to see if there's some movement with a few of them, but I already know what's going to be locked in when I rise and what could be at some point during the day.

Definite Plays

Yankees RL: After struggling a lot throughout the season, both Rodriguez and Vazquez have pitched solidly as of late. But Wandy's not had much success on the road, and after squeaking one out last night, I expect the Yanks to get...

griffdog's Tuesday tennis leans

I have a few picks that I'm looking at for tomorrow's tennis action. I want to narrow it down to three plays, since I had a poor end to today (such a promising start too, what with my NRL/Singaporean soccer parlay) and don't want to sink too much of my remaining bankroll into tennis.

Here's what I like so far, let me know what you think:

Men:

Janko Tipsarevic (currently -125) - Has had injury/illness issues over the last couple of months, but he should take care of business against Granollers. As someone else mentioned on here, fade most...

Just hit a nice 4-teamer

5/22/2010 3:34:00 AM by griffdog
Instead of taking my chances on a bunch of straights tonight, I thought I'd do a parlay tonight to minimize the risk in the crapshoot that is interleague baseball.

Haven't had a lot of luck with parlays recently, hitting two of three, three of four, four of six, and so on, but after hitting this one (about 12 to 1 odds it was), I'm kicking myself for not having added a couple more of my leans that won (K.C., Texas, Arizona's on their way to winning) to make it a six or seven-teamer (25 to 1 or 40 to...

Wednesday Plays and Leans

3/24/2010 2:44:36 PM by griffdog
Big soccer day today, I've got several plays locked in and a few others I'm looking at for later on.

My leans:

Inter Milan -1 1/2 vs. Livorno - Maybe they're getting bored with winning Serie A title after Serie A title, but things are getting a little close for comfort at the top. Nothing like an emphatic win over Serie A's worst team to send a message that their heads are back in the right place after some lackluster results recently, especially with a biggie against Roma coming up on the weekend.

Bologna/Roma over 2 1/2 - A real...

My NCAAB Plays For Today (3/2)

3/2/2010 11:34:48 PM by griffdog
I might make a couple more plays, but these are the ones that I have locked in and feel confident about.

Eastern Illinois -1 (vs. Eastern Kentucky) - EIU beat EKY by 23 at home earlier this season. Eastern Kentucky isn't good on the road at all.

Marquette ML -125 (vs. Louisville) - The Golden Eagles are 8-1 in their last nine. Louisville can play like world beaters on one night and like crap the next, so if there's one side to pick in this one, it's Marquette, with Louisville coming off of a big road...

One play a day?

12/14/2009 1:20:05 AM by griffdog
Let's just say that today was not a good day for me at the ol' book. And so I need to vent for a moment because I know most of you have been there.

Started off well...got some wins with some early soccer bets, had a nice positive balance before the NFL games.

My card for the day was Jacksonville ML, Bears ML, a five-team teaser with the Colts (-1/2), Vikings (-1/2), Texans (-1/2), Bears (+10 1/2), and Jaguars (+3 1/2), Villanova ML, and a two-team teaser with 'Nova and Cincinnati. Nothing too crazy, really.

I was...
